I got hit!

Damn…I got hit by the flu virus and running a fever now. Mr run is this Sunday and I seriously consider if I should still run should I recover by tomorrow. Will see my GP soon and seek some advise. I definitely will not want to on the headline on Monday nor be in the obituary page….

Reason to Run

Marathon day is approaching… I collected my tag and there is this portion behind the tag where u write your reason. I thought about it and conclude that my reason to run would be “to find my discipline at the finishing line

That is really my reason to run, In order to complete the run, training is essential and it takes discipline to train regularly. Finishing the run would be a accomplishment for me, not that I’ve not accomplish anything. But the fact that I have to endure the long journey back to the finishing line. The mental strength to make no excuse to allow myself to give up half way by walking is my form of discipline. Should i see the finishing line, I know that my discipline is still with me.

For those running too, whats yours?

di du di du….. Let me hear u say YEAH

I was browsing through some of my mp3 collections and I played the album “classic disco”, I thought I gonna hear some 80’s retro music from bananarama and so on. Instead these tracks are from the 90’s… Whaa… days where Tea dance and Night Disc, at fire discotheque was the Hip of the town. Hmm..Nigh Disc?? thats what it was called then? Didn’t really ask why why disc or if it was even spell that way. Maybe is short for night disco. I remembered the bat mobile vividly and drink coke from paper cups? eh… to think of it….it feel kind of cheap!!! LOL There was group doing the running man…and peeps dancing to steps. Whaa… happening siah!!!

Later there was sparks and canto pop. Whaa… cheonging a the age of 15….eh…kinna of early right? haha

Anyway back to the song I’m gonna talk about, this is one of most played songs in disco back then.. I still think techno is something enjoyable too. Check this out and dance to the beat….2 unlimited….No limit!

Standard Charatered 1/2 Marathon

Just collected my race tag on Saturday. I was in the 1/2 marathon queue and I think thats the shortest queue, and trust me!!! The queue was awfully long. Toh had to queue more than an hour to get his tag. I only queue mine for less than 45mins. Phew..

I’ve been slacking this month, didn’t really put in much effort for the training and I guess not being able to clock less then 180mins will not surprise me. I’ll be running alone for this marathon, can’t find anyone to join my quest for 1/2 marathon. They r either in the Full or 10km run, no one wants the 21km run…WHY?

After this run I’ll be seriously considering joining a run club. Either sg runners or safra running club. Alone I still lack the motivation and discipline to run regularly.

Osu…cheong ah!!!!

Christmas Tree

Was think about buying a Christmas Tree. Its so much fun decorating it and sitting at your cozy sofa admiring it while it blinks. Then came in the fact the Clement will terrorize the tree and the deco. Ok Bad idea….bad doggie! Plan abolish.

A sudden thought then came to me, is there a Christmas tree decorating competition? where contestant are all given the same material and within a time limit, which ever team can best decorate the tree win a prize? Some organizer who are reading my blog please have this implement and invite me to join? *wink* I can thus decorate a Christmas and not having  have Clement terrorize it. 🙂

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Went Mountain Hill climbing at Bukit Timah Hill yesterday. I was always excited about this hill, I have some feelings for this hill, I used to live just opposite the hill and during my primary school days,I hang out quite often there.Venturing into the hills and exploring different tracks. I have friends staying just at the foot of the hill, not sure if any of you remember “orh chu”, thats what they call the housing there “black house”. They are are like squatters areas, which is like a kampong. I remembered my friend grandpa who sells roasted chestnut and we always get to free packet of it. YUMMY! Oh..I’m a kampong guy, I stayed in kampong during my childhood and I think many around my peers didn’t get to experience such stay 🙂

Okie back to the Hill, we took the Red Track and followed it up to the summit, next we back track it and followed the Blue Track to the Quarry.  The different was quite different from the one I’ve seen 20years back. Back there there wasn’t so much high rise condos and there wasn’t so much blockage from the tree branch. Seems like the tress have grown taller than me 🙂

It was a tiring walk but compensated by a costly breakfast. Had our usual 菜头果, 猪场粉 and 豆花. and additional side dish…the most expensive of them all. a freaking SUMMON ticket…..knnz…sianz 1/2.

Spend the whole afternoon sleeping and slacking. Its another day gone by. I just love weekends!

For those interested to know more about Bukit Timah Hill, here is a link. > HERE <

Christmas outside Singapore

I’m looking at celebrating Christmas & maybe outside Singapore. All along it has been parties or gatherings with friends.
I wanna try it  in a foreign land this year, something special and worth remembering. Have a taste of how Christmas or New Year is being celebrated!

Any suggestions?
